06 Nov Pantry List For Kids Health
The first step toward making changes to what types of food your family eats begins in the kitchen. This is where we look at what types of food are stored in your pantry, fridge and freezer and begin the process of swapping the food that may be damaging the gut with healthier options. Our food swap list can be a good place to start.
What’s of most importance at this initial stage is you don’t become overwhelmed and there are a couple of different ways to tackle your kitchen makeover.
- ✅. You can set aside a chunk of time and toss out or hand-on all the produce that is not serving your child’s health all at once.
- ✅. Or slowly tackle the changeover with baby steps, choosing a few swaps from the list and making small changes as you need to restock staples.
Whichever way you choose is OK because they both will work and often steady and slow win the race. Remember each swap you make will help you along the road to reach your ultimate goal of a happier, healthier child.
In most households, the pantry will be the most time consuming chore, followed by the fridge and freezer. You can begin in your pantry and gradually work toward the fridge and freezer.
The main point here is not to get overwhelmed or daunted by, the pecking order you choose will be the right one for you.
Fiona’s Tip: Regular small changes to food choices result in big improvements to their health over time.
PANTRY ESSENTIALS
As parents, you want to choose nutritious foods that are naturally full of goodness. Having a well-stocked pantry is your first step on the journey to eliminating processed foods from your cupboard. It may seem a little daunting at first but once you begin the process of swapping your staples for healthier alternatives, the rest will fall into place. Of course, you don’t have to stock all these suggestions.
