Oatmeal boasts an impressive nutritional profile with a hearty amount of protein, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats. While premixed packages are tempting, it’s best to make your own at home.
Oats Benefits Healthy Children
One of the best ways parents help their child to be the happiest and healthiest version of themselves is feeding their kids a delicious and nutritious diet.
Oats or oatmeal are a whole-food grain and there botanical name is Avena sativa.
The most intact and whole form of oats are oat groats and they a take a long time to cook. And this is the reason oats are preferred as rolled, crushed, or steel-cut oats.
Another variety are Instant (quick) oats which are the most highly processed variety. They don’t take as long to cook and the texture may be mushy.
Oats are commonly eaten for breakfast as oatmeal, which is made by boiling oats in water or milk. Oatmeal is often referred to as porridge.
Porridge will set your child up perfectly for a busy day and by adding banana it will get in another serve of fruit.
