
12 Jun Home-Made Hand Sanitiser
With all the news surrounding the Coronavirus, good old fashioned hand washing is a must but not always possible, especially with kids. Hand sanitisers are an excellent substitute in this unique situation. If you are unable to get your hands on a bottle because it’s sold-out, try this recipe to make at home. Alcohol kills bacteria and viruses when applied to the skin and tea tree also has strong antimicrobial properties.
INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup rubbing alcohol (70 to 99% isopropyl alcohol) or ethanol
1/3 cup aloe vera gel
10 drops lavender essential oil (or oil of choice)
10 drops tea tree essential oil
METHOD
- Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix together.
- Decant mixture into bottle of choice and store in dark dry place.
