Chicken is a firm favourite with babies and this tender poached chicken pairs beautifully with soft creamy carrots.
Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast (skinless and sliced)
- 2 carrots (sliced)
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 lemon (slices)
- 1 1/4 cup bone broth (or water)
Instructions
- Add the carrots to a saucepan with enough bone broth or water to cover the veggies. Bring to the boil, reduce to simmer and cook until tender. Remove the carrots and allow the broth/water.
- Add the sliced chicken and lemon to the pot of simmering broth/water. Add more water if needed so the chicken is covered and continue to simmer for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Drain the chicken. Add the carrots, garlic clove and ground cumin and chicken to a food processor and blend until desired consistency is achieved – adding more water or bone broth if needed.
- You can safely store this purée in the fridge for up to 3 days. Age: 8+ months Makes: 2 cups
