Poached Chicken & Carrot Purée

⏱ 30min

Chicken is a firm favourite with babies and this tender poached chicken pairs beautifully with soft creamy carrots.

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken breast (skinless and sliced)
  • 2 carrots (sliced)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 lemon (slices)
  • 1 1/4 cup bone broth (or water)

Instructions

  1. Add the carrots to a saucepan with enough bone broth or water to cover the veggies. Bring to the boil, reduce to simmer and cook until tender. Remove the carrots and allow the broth/water.
  2. Add the sliced chicken and lemon to the pot of simmering broth/water. Add more water if needed so the chicken is covered and continue to simmer for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  3. Drain the chicken. Add the carrots, garlic clove and ground cumin and chicken to a food processor and blend until desired consistency is achieved – adding more water or bone broth if needed.
  4. You can safely store this purée in the fridge for up to 3 days. Age: 8+ months Makes: 2 cups
