One important food group which is vital to include in your child’s diet on a daily basis is protein. Fish is a wonderful source of high-quality protein. Protein provides the building blocks for the growth and repair of muscles, organs and skin. Babies and toddlers need more protein in their diet than older children and adults.
Ingredients
- 150 g white fish fillet (skinless)
- 1 cup vegetables (of choice)
- 1/4 cup bone broth (or water)
Instructions
- In a steamer over a saucepan of simmering water with the lid on, cook the vegetables until tender. Remove and set aside.
- Add the fish to the steamer and cook for approximately 5 minutes or until cooked through and tender.
- Blend the fish and vegetables with the bone broth or water until smooth.
- You can safely store this purée in the fridge for 1 to 2 days.
